Responsibilities
- Lead the application support team in resolving escalated technical issues and providing guidance on complex problem-solving scenarios, ensuring timely incident resolution and minimal service disruptions.
- Collaborate with software developers and system administrators to implement system enhancements, upgrades, and patches, ensuring seamless integration and minimal downtime.
- Conduct in-depth root cause analysis for recurring issues, identify trends, and implement preventive measures to enhance system stability and performance.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, user guides, and training materials to facilitate efficient user onboarding and ongoing support processes.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide insights on application performance, user feedback, and improvement opportunities, contributing to strategic decision-making and continuous service enhancement.
Must-have skills
- Expertise in application support, maintenance, and incident management, with a focus on ensuring high system availability and performance
- Proficiency in SQL queries, database management, and data analysis to troubleshoot and optimize application functionality
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes of technical issues and implement effective solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with internal teams, external vendors, and end-users
- Leadership experience in guiding technical teams, prioritizing tasks, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Certifications in ITIL, Oracle, or Microsoft Azure for best practices and technology proficiency
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure for scalable application solutions
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies for iterative software development
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices for application security
- Ability to automate routine tasks using scripting languages like Python or PowerShell
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams in a global environment
- Certifications in project management (PMP) or Agile (Scrum Master) for enhanced organizational skills
- Knowledge of IT service management tools like ServiceNow or Remedy for streamlined support processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Proven experience in application support, troubleshooting, and system maintenance
- Advanced knowledge of SQL databases, scripting languages, and ITIL framework
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience in leading technical teams and mentoring junior analysts
- Certifications in relevant technologies such as ITIL, Oracle, or Microsoft Azure
